Task 1. Write letters to your epal as in the example given below:


Worksheet #1 "All about me"

Answer some additional questions:
1). What is your favorite food?

2). What do you like to do in your free time?

3). How many hours do you study per each night?

4). How many hours do you spend in school/university?

5). What is your favorite subject in school/university?

6). What class do you find the hardest?

7). What is your favorite sport?

8). What do you like to do in your free time?

9). What kind of music do you like?

10). Do you wear uniforms to school/university?


Task 2. Just imagine that you have been hired by the Creative Classroom Company to illustrate a poster to help children learn their ABCs. By happy coincidence, you and your first name is the subject of the poster!

1. First, take a piece of flipchart paper and write your name vertically down the left side.

2. Next, choose a word that starts with each letter of your name. The word should describe something about you. Write those words horizontally across the paper, using the letters of your name as the first letter of each descriptive word

3. After you have listed your words, draw and accompanying picture to illustrate each.

4. Then prepare yourself for a brief presentation of your poster.

Materials Needed:

Time:

You have 10 minutes for setup and drawing. When you and your fellow students complete your posters, you should introduce yourself and listen to others attentively. Send the poster to your epal.


Task 3. Just imagine that you have just been given a contract to write your autobiography for a major publishing company. Your agent Harry Hardnose is anxious to get to press. He has decided to help you get started with a few probing questions.
1. First, take a piece of flipchart paper and fold it in half and then in half again to form a book.

2. Choose the title of a popular song for the name of your book. Write that title on the front cover.

3. On the inside of the front cover (page two), list a table of contents:

a). Name of the place where you were born

b). Description of your childhood/school years

c). Your interests & hobbies

d). Your strong & weak points etc.

4. On page three, draw a picture of your family.

5. On the back cover of the book, draw a picture of what you plan to do when you retire. Where will you go? Who will you go with? Etc.

Time: You have 15 minutes for setup and drawing. .When you and your fellow students complete your books, you will tell your story using a book as a visual aid. Also you should listen to others very attentively.



Task 4. Create a Venn Diagram on the topic "The differences and the same things between Russians and Americans" (the topics to cover: "Food", "Free time", "Education", "Sports", "Habits" and etc.) using the info from your epals' letters as in th example.
